ABOUT NEW LEAF

New Leaf was formed in 2023 and began operations in 2024. We made the decision to form the company because there was a need in the market - a need to collect, transport, process, and store recalled airbags that had been removed from vehicles. Without a viable alternative, these parts could end up in landfills, potentially available to bad actors or those who could be injured by them or, even worse, reintroduced to the stream of commerce and passed off as "good" components. New Leaf developed a system to track, from the time of collection, individually serial-numbered parts through transportation, processing, storage, and ultimately disposal. This allows New Leaf to not only identify which individual parts have been collected to aid in internal and OEM record keeping, but also to efficiently store them and to properly manifest them when they are sent to disposal.

Each step in this process is regulated by various federal, state, and municipal entities, and New Leaf's founding philosophy requires adherence, by New Leaf as well as its providers and stakeholders, to all of these regulations. In addition to this regulatory compliance, New Leaf strives to be a good corporate citizen by always working towards a zero landfill goal. All possible materials are sent to certified recyclers once they have been rendered safe and non-reactive.

Over time, New Leaf has been able to expand its offerings. We not only handle recalled airbags, but now offer services for the collection, processing, and disposal of all automotive hazardous materials. These include not only airbags and their components, but also seat belts, fuel system components, and batteries, among others.

In addition to our parts collections, New Leaf also offers a wide range of testing, modeling, and analysis services. We can collect parts meeting various specifications from the field, and break them down for testing various components. This allows our experts to model the way these parts may behave in a variety of vehicle types and environmental conditions.
